Learning in style.
KOGEKA – Geel, Belgium.
When you walk into ‘Sint-Jozefsinstituut KOGEKA’ in Geel, you can’t overlook the modern and vibrant look of the school. The fresh colors of the furniture in combination with a minimalistic design dominate the entire school interior.
Besides their feeling for design, teachers at KOGEKA also value ergonomics. The school furniture wasn’t only chosen in function of stylish decoration, but also because of the comfort and health of the students. The Opti+ chairs are designed to allow for movement whilst sitting. They encourage students to move during the lesson without distracting them. Their unique height allows them to stretch their legs in class while keeping the same eye level as the seated students and teacher. The Opti+ Move is specifically designed to encourage movement even more. Whilst seated, students can stretch their legs as much as they want or lean backwards over the waterfall edge. So that students can follow the lesson comfortably, without being distracted or distract others.
According to Bob Heylen, principle of ‘Sint-Jozefsinstituut KOGEKA’, the students and teachers are very excited about the school furniture. They find it modern and comfortable. And they’re pleased with the freedom of movement they receive. “With the new furniture the school makes a first step in the direction of learning while moving”.
